Three dogs died and a firefighter was injured in an extra-alarm fire in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.
The fire started in a building on the 5400 block of South Justine Avenue and spread to buildings to the north and south, Chicago Fire Department Spokesman Larry Langford said.
Firefighters encountered a frozen fire hydrant at the scene, Langford said.
