'Detroit' to play Playwrights Horizons

"Detroit," the well-received new play by Lisa D' Amour that premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago last year under the direction of Austin Pendleton, will make its New York bow at Playwrights Horizons in that non-profit theater's 2012-13 season, the New York company said Monday.

There will now be a different director in Anne Kauffman.

"Detroit," which will also play the National Theatre in London, was previously announced for Broadway, an option that will remain open should the work thrive at Playwrights Horizons.
