The playing time for Tony Campana may increase, but for now “we’re going to continue to use him off the bench,” Cubs’ manager Mike Quade said.
Campana, who was hitting .258 when he started Friday, was the hero of the 4-3 victory with three hits, one of them a two-run inside-the-park home run.
“I know what my role is on the team,” the rookie center fielder said.
He said he had seen the replay of his first-inning homer “a couple of times. It was pretty cool.”
