• A man died after he was shot in the abdomen at a "30 & over" lounge at 69th and Morgan streets in the Englewood neighborhood around 2 a.m., police said. The 29-year-old man was shot outside and stumbled inside the lounge, a large brick 2-story building on the northeast corner of the intersection. Read more

• Four firefighters were injured at an extra-alarm blaze on the Far Northwest Side Thursday night. The four were fighting the fire in the 5700 block of North Newark Avenue around 8:15 p.m. when a stairway collapsed, officials said.
