Our Sept. 13 public affairs forum, Chicago Forward: Education, is just around the corner. Dedicated members of Trib Nation will recall we hosted one of these forums a year ago, and I'll include a link to that forum in this post.
This year's Chicago Forward: Education brings Chicago Public Schools CEO Jean-Claude Brizard into public conversation with Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis. Tickets are $15 and can still be found here as I write this. As with last year, the conversation will be moderated by Editorial Page Editor Bruce Dold.
Last year, the panelists were then-CPS CEO Ron Huberman; Lewis; Sister Mary Paul McCaughey, superintendent of the Chicago Catholic schools; Pastor Illinois Sen. James Meeks of the state Senate Education Committee; and Harriet Meyer, president of the Ounce of Prevention fund.
Here's a link to re-read that liveblog and see the video. It's also a reminder of how far Trib Nation's technology and polish have come. I'm tempted to clean it up, but it seems unscientific.
