Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook suffered an injury during the first period of Sunday night's game against the Calgary Flames and did not return.
Seabrook was leveled into the boards from behind by former teammate Rene Bourque and went down face first to the ice. Seabrook stayed on the ice for several moments before getting up and slowly making his to the Hawks bench before eventually heading down the tunnel to the dressing room.
Following the Hawks' 4-2 victory, Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said Seabrook "seemed not bad after the game. He seemed okay, we’ll know more (Monday)."
Quenneville added that he's "hopeful" Seabrook will make the trip to Pittsburgh where the Hawks will face the Penguins on Tuesday night.
Bourque was assessed a five-minute major for hitting from behind and also given a game misconduct.
