How long have you played water polo? Three years.
What do you love most about water polo?
The physical side of the sport, along with the fact that the game happens very fast so you always have to be alert.
What was your biggest challenge this season? How did you overcome it?
Always facing a double team. We overcame this as a team by shooting more from the outside and not cramming the ball into me.
What was your favorite moment of this season? Why?
Beating Stevenson at their home pool. It was very intense and beating them felt awesome. Stevenson also went on to become second in state so beating them was quite the accomplishment.
Do you have any rituals or superstitions when you play?
Just jam to a little music now and then. I really start to get pumped up as soon as I get in the pool for warmups.
Who has inspired you most in your athletic endeavors?
My whole family. They all support me in whatever I do and they are always there for me.
If you didn’t play water polo, what would you be doing?
Sleeping a whole lot more than I do. Those morning practices are real killers.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
My favorite athlete varies a lot. Right now I’m kind of in hockey-watching mode, so I’d have to say Jonathan Toews or Patrick Kane.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside water polo?
Hanging with my friends, driving everywhere, and working as a lifeguard.
Favorite quote or words to live by:
“Live simple, enjoy life, or have fun.”
