A man and a woman from the northwest suburbs were killed early this morning when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a semi tractor trailer on Interstate 80 near Mokena in southwest suburban Frankfort Township, authorities said.
The 32-year-old man from Elgin and the 23-year-old woman from Buffalo Grove were traveling westbound when the motorcycle, a 2006 Honda CBR 1100, crashed into the truck trailer, a 1993 Mack tractor with a 2000 Dierzen Dump Trailer, about 2:02 a.m. near where Wolf/Martie Road crosses the interstate, according to the Illinois State Police.
Both died on the scene. The Will County coroner's office identified the two as Todd William Tracy-Zarebski of Elgin and Eve Koltovaite of Buffalo Grove. Autopsies are scheduled for July 15.

Both the motorcycle and the truck were in the center lane when the motorcycle crashed into the truck trailer, "for unknown reasons," according to a a release from the Illinois State Police.
The trailer burst into flames after the crash, and all three southbound lanes were closed until about 5:40 a.m. as first responders and investigators worked at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. The driver of the truck refused medical treatment, state police said.
