Spirit Airlines adding service to Houston from BWI

Continuing to expand its service out of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Spirit Airlines announced Friday that it will begin offering one flight a day to and from Houston next March. Houston will become the seventh market served by Spirit from BWI. The low-fare carrier, based in Miramar, Fla., relocated its service to BWI from Reagan National Airport in September 2012. At the time it only served Fort Lauderdale and Dallas/Fort Worth. It has since added Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas, with some of the service being seasonal.
