Employee charged with setting Aberdeen Hilton on fire

A man, who investigators characterized as a disgruntled hotel employee, was arrested Friday and charged with setting a fire in the Hilton Garden Inn in Aberdeen last November, officials from the Maryland State Fire Marshalls Office said. Gerald A. Rogers, 31, of the 13000 block of William Beanes Road in Upper Marlboro, was charged with first-degree arson, second-degree malicious burning, reckless endangerment and vandalism less than $1,000, according to court records. The fire started in the laundry room of the hotel, while it was occupied, on Nov. 9, 2013, said the Fire Marshal's Office.
