Laurel hires media coordinator for public TV station

Laurel city government has hired Joyce Jackson, a former TV journalist with WUSA 9 in Washington, to be the full-time media coordinator for the newly formed department of communications. The new position was created to help the department relaunch the city's public access television network, called LaurelTV. The network, previously the Laurel Cable Network, was run by a nonprofit until the city acquired it last year. “Joyce is an exceptional reporter and anchor. Her list of contacts in sports and news is a mile long. And even better, she lives in Laurel and knows the community and people who live here.
