Virginia F. Toohey, a homemaker and former volunteer, died Monday of heart failure at the Blakehurst retirement community in Towson. She was 96. The daughter of a Crown Cork and Seal Co. vice president and a homemaker, the former Virginia Marie Fusting was born in Baltimore and raised on Falls Road Terrace. She was a 1934 graduate of Mount St. Agnes High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1938 from what is now Notre Dame of Maryland University. In 1940, she married Jerome F. Toohey, a mechanical engineer who later became president of Dixie Manufacturing Co. For years, the couple resided on St. Albans Way in Homeland.
