Coke chief marketing, commercial officer Tripodi to retire

ATLANTA Coca-Cola's Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Joe Tripodi plans to retire from the company at the end of February next year, the Atlanta-based beverage giant said Thursday. Tripodi, who held the chief marketing position for more than seven years, helped launch the brand's "Open Happiness" campaign and was a member of the American Marketing Association's Hall of Fame. Under his guidance, Coke was named the Cannes Lions Creative Marketer of the Year in 2013.
