Mallow Crunchies is closing as owner Nikki Lewis takes the lessons she's learned during seven years in business and plans to share them with other food entrepreneurs.
The White Marsh dessert maker is closing its doors this week. Next, Lewis will focus her energy on a new podcast and consulting business, both called Biz Underdog to Topdog.
Lewis said business at Mallow Crunchies was good, but it had reached the point where she needed to secure an investor to take it to the next level. She had deals pending to expand her presence in Whole Foods' Mid-Atlantic stores and sell her products in 100 Giant Food locations.
