Baltimore Symphony Orchestra names new CEO, from Grand Rapids Symphony

After a 10-month search, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra has named Peter T. Kjome as president and CEO, effective Feb. 1. Kjome is currently president and CEO of the Grand Rapids Symphony in Michigan, the orchestra where he once served as principal oboist.

Kjome (pronounced CHO-mee) succeeds Paul Meecham, who announced in February that he would be stepping down at the end of the 2015-2016 season after a decade-long tenure to take a similar position with the Utah Symphony and Utah Opera.
