It's hard enough to make a go of things when you think you know who you are and who you fancy. Things get much trickier for the young man called John in Mike Bartlett's intense and funny work, "The Cockfight Play." (That's what family newspapers call it; the actual title requires only one of those syllables.)

After a more or less steady, live-in relationship with another man, John unexpectedly meets and, even more unexpectedly, shares a bed with a woman.
