  1. Ravens' 2013 schedule starts in Denver, includes home Thanksgiving game against Pittsburgh

The Ravens won’t get their season-opening home game, like reigning Super Bowl champions have for the last decade. But they will play four prime-time games, including a Thanksgiving night showdown at home against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, and a much-anticipated rematch with the Denver Broncos to kick off their Super Bowl XLVII title defense.

  3. An unruly guest treated with love, not anger

I view most efforts to coerce people into doing a particular thing on a particular day with suspicion. Consider Christmas. It can be great, but I'm not sure little baby Jesus would need an Xbox. And why did President Ronald Reagan make June 25 National Catfish Day? Salmon tastes so much better.

  9. 'Glee' recap: Thanksgiving

No, you're not crazy. This week is the "Glee" Thanksgiving episode...because actually showing it on Thanksgiving would make too much sense, right, Ryan Murphy? Anywho, this week is more of a homecoming as well for the New Directions alums.

  13. A holiday with the "new" family takes priority

Happy post-Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have plenty to be thankful for and that you arrived at your turkey day destinations safely and sans hangover. A family friend of mine once gave me advice on juggling holiday time with my family and my future in-laws. She said, "Rachel, when you get married, you'll have three families: you, your husband and any children you may have; your family; and your husband's family. The family you create should always come first. The other two will understand."

  15. Early bird holiday train travelers in Aberdeen hope to avoid traffic, long distance driving

Taking an Amtrak train to Connecticut from Aberdeen sure beats driving to Connecticut from Ohio for the Thanksgiving holiday. That's what Blake Skoda was thinking as he waited for the 7:35 a.m. Northeast Regional Train at the Aberdeen train station early Wednesday morning.

  21. Black Friday shoppers may have done more browsing than buying

Domingo Catalan powered through the Thanksgiving night crowds to get his children toys. He methodically checked all the boxes on his relatives' wish lists on Black Friday. And before he goes to work as a data analyst for a government contractor on Cyber Monday, he expects to look for online deals to have shipped to his brother's family in Germany.
