State Class 2A champion Douglass, of Prince George's County, took over the top spot in the final Maryland High School Football Media State Poll with No. 2 Northwest, No. 3 McDonogh, No. 4 Gilman and No. 5 Franklin rounding out the top teams. In winning its first state football championship, Douglass (14-0) dominated its classification and its schedule like no other team to move up from No. 4.
