I was hesitant to write about recent developments at the Sun-Times — the biggest story in my little world last week — until seemingly hundreds of readers insisted I do so.
"Who's gonna tell me what to think about all that craziness?" they asked plaintively.
And by "hundreds," of course, I mean maybe a dozen, and by "readers" I refer mostly to voices in my head. And by "insisted" I mean they indicated a curiosity about my thoughts about developments at our rival newspaper. Also that quote isn't word-for-word but my self-important paraphrase of their mild inquiry.
