For local students, holidays mean helping the less fortunate [North Laurel/Savage]

Hanukkah has ended and Christmas and Kwanzaa are about to begin. Students are counting the minutes till they start their winter break. You can tell it's the end of the year. Reservoir and Hammond High had food drives before the end of the year to help others. It is great to see our students remembering others. Guilford Elementary had a contest with their food drive. When the students brought in their food they placed it in one of three boxes. One marked Redskins, one for Ravens and one for all other teams. What a creative way to get the kids to donate while cheering on their teams. During the next few months, many churches in our area will be helping with the cold weather shelters...
