Banning Holidays Is Getting Ridiculous

Just finished reading how Newington is eliminating Halloween because of "concerns that parades and parties exclude children whose families don't celebrate the holiday" [Oct. 23, news, "School To Skip Halloween Events"]. And how is the school or the celebration excluding them? They aren't. All are invited, no exclusions based on anything has been spelled out. If 3 percent of the parents of the kids don't like it, they should explain why the other 97 percent should suffer. This is getting out of hand.
