Is All Saint's Day. Thursday, Oct. 31 commenced the celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexico. Not associated with Halloween, but based upon Aztec and Mesoamerican faiths, the day honors the lives of deceased friends and family members, celebrating the continuity of life and is celebrated by Mexican-Americans. Traditionally, children are honored on Nov. 1 – Dia de los Angelitos (Day of the little Angels) and adults on Nov. 2.
Tonight (Friday) is a first Fridays celebration, 5 to 9 p.m. at the merchants and restaurants in downtown Havre de Grace.
