  • Pot Spring student's invention installed at school [Lutherville-Timonium]

Noah Unger, a fifth-grade student at Pot Spring Elementary in Timonium came up with a novel idea for the start of the school year. Noah has come up with the idea of a Buddy Bench, a place where a student can sit during recess to signal they want to join an activity. As Noah explained, "If someone is left out, they sit on the Buddy Bench and someone knows to welcome them into a game or talk. The school is taking it pretty seriously." In mid-September, Pot Spring Elementary proudly installed a Buddy Bench on each of the two playgrounds. Noah hopes that the bench will make students more comfortable and initiate new friendships this school year. Noah also reminds us to "Be a buddy, not a bully!"
