The State Theatre's 2003-2004 schedule is heavy on new and old favorites, expanded series and informal sequels.

For the first time the Easton performing-arts center will welcome singer Olivia Newton-John. For the sixth time it will welcome Canadian singer Anne Murray, this time with a 34-piece orchestra.

The State's Christmas series will have a new wrinkle: a show starring comic Kevin Meaney, who is throwing his hat into Scrooge's ring. The Broadway series will have a new incentive: Those who buy tickets to four of six musicals will receive a free ticket to "The Art of Broadway," where Michael Ostaski paints portraits of celebrities as a troupe performs material from the likes of "Cabaret" and "Smokey Joe's Cafe."

Semi-sequels include The Ten Tenors, Australia's answer to the African-American Three Mo' Tenors, and a sing-along screening of "The Wizard of Oz," a follow-up to an audience-interactive "The Sound of Music."
