Milbank and Webster are switching places as the host site for the next two upcoming State B American Legion Baseball Tournaments.
Webster was to host the 2012 event July 27-31 at 7-year-old Bob Wiley Field. However, an April 27 windstorm with gusts up to 45 mph damaged all six of the field's light towers. One tower fell during the storm, and another was damaged enough that it had to be taken down.
Since then, the city has had the other four poles inspected and decided they need to come down. Thus, the tourney needed to be moved.
So Milbank will host this year's tourney and Webster will host the 2013 tourney. Milbank Post 9 now will be an automatic qualifier as the host team.
