The Saint Bonaventure Catholic School boys' flag football team from Huntington Beach capped off an undefeated season by beating St. Hedwig, 36–28, bringing its record to a memorable 16-0.
The team, composed of 15 sixth-graders, went 9-0 in league play, outscoring opponents, 256-111.
The St. Bonaventure boys led the Parochial Athletic League Coastal 1B division in both total points scored and least points allowed.
Along with being crowned league champion, St. Bonaventure also took the title in both the St. Francis of Assisi tournament and St. Norbert's tournament.
The team was: Clark Gallagher, Cade Fuller, Ryan Kroll, Cade Rosenkranz, Brenden Moore, Richard Krebs, Alec Paz, Nathaniel Almendral, Andre Birkner, Ikaika Fuller, Trent McDuffie, Patrick Burke, Daniel Williams, Tim Fronek and Kyle Christy. The team was coached by John Burke, Andy Williams and Tim Rosenkranz.
