Kay Baldwin, the husband of Mary Lou Baldwin (deceased), passed away at home on Thursday May 22, 2014 following an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Kay was born in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, to Chester and Alice Baldwin. He attended Redwood Falls High School, where he met Mary Lou Nelson. On August 13, 1950, they were married at the Redwood Falls Church of Christ. They had a wonderful marriage of 54 years.
Kay and Mary Lou were residents of Burbank since 1963, where they operated a successful insurance agency until they retired. Kay was a devoted husband and father of three children. Kay was active in many community organizations including the Burbank Chamber of Commerce, Sertoma, Optimist International, the First Christian Church of Burbank and the Burbank First United Methodist Church.
Kay is survived by Son Michael Baldwin, his wife Barbara and grandchildren Michelle, Jason and Jeffery. Daughters: Brenda Baldwin and Beverly Haldeman and grandchildren Kristin and Jennifer. Sister Judith.
Interment was a private service at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. The memorial service was held at the Burbank First United Methodist Church on Monday, June 2, 2014.
The Baldwin family has requested that Memorial gifts be made in his memory to the Providence Saint Joseph Foundation for the Kay and Mary Lou Baldwin Nursing Endowment, The National Parkinson Foundation or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
