UC Irvine ranked 112 on Forbes Magazine's list of the 650 top colleges in the United States, released last week.
UCI was the highest-ranked Orange County college on the list and 13th in California.
Two California institutions took the top spots nationwide: Stanford was top and Pomona College second, according to the list.
Forbes partnered with a Washington, D.C.-based research center to rank the colleges based on what students got out of the education rather than who was accepted to the school, according to the magazine.
Its methodology weighed factors like student satisfaction, post-graduation success rate and student debt, among other things, according to Forbes.
The full ranking is available on the Forbes website.
