Local Author at Newport Bookstore
Adam Prince, a class of 1993 graduate from Newport Harbor High School, will read from his new collection of short stories, "The Beautiful Wishes of Ugly Men," as well as sign copies of the book. The event is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Lido Village Books, 3424 Via Oporto, Newport Beach.

Breakfast with Navy SEALs
As part of its Distinguished Speaker program, the Orange County Council of the Navy League of the United States will host a presentation by Navy SEALs assigned to Team Six, the most elite unit in the Navy's special forces wing. The Youth Work Team from Mesa Verde United Methodist Church invites you to support team members by dining in or ordering take-at the Newport Beach Rib Co. in order to help raise funds for their summer work project in Susanville, Calif. Twenty percent of sales on take-out, ordered between 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., and during dine-in hours from noon to 9 p.m., will go toward the Youth Work Team's project to help elderly people through the summer project.
