Big attendance records for first weekend of Super Bowl festivities

Officials say nearly 200,000 people visited downtown attractions

Indianapolis, Ind.

It was a super weekend according to the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee.

The committee told Fox59 an estimated 200,000 people came downtown to take part in the opening weekend festivities.

Ticket sales for the NFL Experience were also breaking records.

A reported 42,000 people attended the Experience Sunday, exceeding expectations that continue into the week.

One of the main attractions in the Super Bowl Village is the zip line, where demand is exceeding supply at this point.

The committee said they are encouraging people to come down early, hop in line for walk-up sales and be patient.
