With a little more than 70 days left until Black Friday--the official start of the holiday shopping season—retailers are ready to bolster their ranks.
Already, retailers here in Central Indiana are gearing up to hire thousands of seasonal employees. While it may seem early to talk about holiday shopping, it's definitely the right time to talk about seasonal jobs, according to Ramona Schaefer with Manpower employment services.
Schaefer says retailers are looking to have their staff in place for the holidays next month.
"October will be here before we know it and that's when they need to be getting ready or be ready at least getting people in place and doing their hiring because the bulk of their business is going to be starting in November and if they are anticipating a good year like we all are, people are going shopping earlier this year.”
Schaefer added it's not just college students who will fill these positions. Many folks are interested in earning some quick cash for the holidays by supplementing their income.
