Fishers Police, residents not relaxing after two burglary suspects are arrested

Indianapolis

Two Hamilton County men were arrested for burglary Wednesday.

Police believe 33-year-old Joshua Brown and 39-year-old Matthew Cleary are responsible for three burglaries in the area recently, including the one they were reportedly busted for in the Cherry Hill Farms Neighborhood. While they're off the streets, Fishers Police and residents are not relaxing just yet.

Investigators believe several groups are responsible for the string of burglaries in the area.

More Fishers Police officers are hitting the streets searching for suspicious activity and officers are encouraging residents to stay vigilant, lock up and keep a look out.

Residents said they are keeping an extra eye out in their neighborhoods.

"If I see a strange car or if I just see someone standing outside a house that doesn't live there, I kind of get an idea of what's going on before I move on or get an idea of the car they're driving just to be safe," said Jeff Simpkins.

Leona Anderson said she has extra locks on her doors, reenforced windows and security lights at her house. She's also never far away from a cell phone.

"I don't even go to the mailbox unless I take my cell phone with me. If I see anything, I'll call the police right away," said Anderson.

Fishers Police said burglaries tend to happen between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. when many people are not home.
