Colts fans still reeling from Peyton Manning’s release, were stunned again to see five veterans released from the NFL team, Friday.
Gary Brackett, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai, Melvin Bullitt and Curtis Painter will not be on the team’s roster next season.
"I've had to shed a few tears,” added Colts fan Diana Jones. “It's the end of an era."
Both will continue to cheer on the Colts, but not Ken Lauter.
Lauter has had season tickets for 15 years. This year, he gave them up. He said his team is gone and he can’t root for a team he doesn’t know.
"I've been invested for 15 years,” said Lauter. “The team is getting "old" and I understand what's going on, but I just don't feel the connection now, because everything is different."
While some expected the loss of key veteran players, the transition is still worrisome. Most predict a couple of rough seasons before the new players become adjusted.
