Organizers said the focus of the rally is on the need for ongoing education excellence by utilizing quality teachers and schools, as well as empowered parents.
They are celebrating student-centered reforms and calling for continued innovation in education to provide all kids access to high-quality learning options.
Fox59 spoke with Kevin Chavous, a Hoosier native and national education reform leader Wednesday morning who said this rally is an opportunity for voices to be heard and a reminder to keep the focus on the students.
The rally will also feature a summary of recent education reforms passed by lawmakers last year: expanding charter schools, the creation of a broad needs-based voucher program and the focus on educator quality and local flexibility.
The rally will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
