A Baltimore wake up call was quite a dangerous one for two of the Izod IndyCar Series most successful drivers.

During a warmup run on Sunday, KV Racing's Tony Kanaan lost his breaks going into a turn on the street course in Baltimore, losing control and flying into Penske Racing's Helio Castroneves.

Kanaan hit the right sidepod and tire of Castroneves and flew over the car, slid down the road after the turn and went into the tire barrier.

Immediately following the crash Kanaan emerged from his car unscathed, and went over to talk to Castroneves who also was unharmed.

"I was actually lucky that Helio was there; he saved my life," Kanaan said to Dave Lewandowski of IndyCar.com. "I lost my brakes, and I was heading straight to the wall. I'm glad that both of us are OK."
