A smart man makes sure to keep all of his options open, and Indiana Pacers interim head coach Frank Vogel is doing just that.

Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star reported Thursday night that Vogel is one of many candidates for the Houston Rockets opening at head coach, and was interviewed by the team according to multiple sources.

Vogel, who led the team to a 20-18 record after Jim O'Brien was fired in January, has openly stated how he would like to be brought back to the Pacers for the full time job.

However Wells reports that a decision won't be made on Vogel's future with Indiana until after Pacers owner Herb Simon decides if Larry Bird will be brought back as president of basketball operations.
