The goal on regional Saturday for the wrestling individuals tournament is of course to advance. But, it doesn't hurt to take home a little hardware too.

Both Perry Meridian and Roncalli did just that Saturday afternoon, with nine individuals winning fourteen of the different weight classes in the Falcons home gymnasium, and seven members from either team finishing runner-up.

It was an overall dominating performance by the two respective programs at a regional that pitted some of the best wrestlers in the state against each other, including the the 125-pound championship that saw state number-one Jared McKinley (43-1) of Perry Meridian def. Roncalli's Josh Kieffer (38-3) in a three-round match by the score of 5-3.

Other stand-out matches include Joe Kiefer of Roncalli (36-3) come back down 7-5 with just a minute to go to defeat Ben Davis' Clayton Davenport (32-7) 9-7, Kameron James (32-4) of Pike's dominating 145 championship match over Robert Riedling (16-3) of Warren Central, and the six-round 285 pound champoinship that saw Tyler Uhls (31-10) of Speedway take down Adam Decker (32-9) of Beech Grove 2-1.
