BENTON HARBOR - Defending champion Tom Watson has withdrawn from the 73rd Senior PGA Championship with an injury.
Watson has been slow in recovering from a pinched nerve in his wrist. The injury has kept him out of the last several Champions Tour events.
Watson is a two-time Senior PGA champion, having also won the event in 2001. He has 39 career victories on the PGA Tour, includingeight major championships.
Watson will be at the GOLF CLUB at Harbor Shores on Tuesday, May 22 for a news conference and will host the Champions' Dinner that evening.
The championship tees-off Thursday morning.
