Notre Dame offensive coordinator Charley Molnar was introduced as the new head football coach at the University of Massachusetts today.

Molnar was introduced at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massacushetts, home of the New England Patriots, and the new home for UMass football.

Molnar will lead UMass as it transitions from the NCAA football championship subdivision into the football bowl subdivision, and competes in the MAC.  Molnar's familiarirty with the MAC, from his days on Brian Kelly's staff at Central Michigan(2006) and as the quarterbacks coach at Western Michigan (2003-04) was seen as a positive by UMass in the hiring process.

Molnar will stay with Notre Dame through the Champs Sports Bowl on December 29th against Florida State in Orlando.
