Facing the wrath of Mets' fans and pressure from the media after a 2-5 start, manager Jerry Manuel says he will keep things as they are-at least for now.

Following last night's 11-3 loss to the Rockies, Manuel hinted that there will be "dialogue" concerning Maine, who gave up 8 runs in three innings. After 2 starts, the righthander's ERA is 13.50.

Maine clearly hasn't been the same velocity wise since shoulder surgery in September of 2008. Last season, he spent time on the DL for "shoulder fatigue." His velocity, once near 95 mph, has had trouble reaching 90 thus far.

But on his weekly radio appearance today, Manuel said he wants to see how Maine-and all the starters-are doing after three turns through the rotation. Despite the team's 2-5 start and empty seats at Citi Field, Manuel asserted that it's early in the season and he must "keep the faith."
