The Liberty Flames and the James Madison Dukes have both been selected to play-in games as 16-seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Liberty, the Big South Champions, will play North Carolina A&T, the MEAC Champions, on Tuesday in Dayton. The winner of that Midwest play-in game will travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take-on the overall one-seed, Louisville.
As for JMU, the CAA Champions, they will take-on LIU-Brooklyn, the NEC Champions, as the play-in game in the East Region. That game will be played on Wednesday, also in Dayton. The winner will move-on to face No. 1 Indiana.
The four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament are Louisville, Kansas, Indiana and Gonzaga.

- ACC teams making the Big Dance include Duke (No. 2 in Midwest Region vs. No. 15 Albany), Miami (No. 2 in East Region vs. No. 15 Pacific), NC State (No. 8 in East Region vs. No. 9 Temple), and North Carolina (No. 8 in South Region vs. No. 9 Villanova)
- VCU is the 5-seed in the South Region and will play No. 12 Akron on Thursday in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
