Ever wanted to go back to college for the day? Don’t miss: 3 top lecturers in Baltimore

Five-star recruit Keldon Johnson, Terps' top target, to announce decision Saturday

Five-star senior guard Keldon Johnson, the Maryland men’s basketball team’s top-rated recruiting target, will announce his college decision and sign a national letter of intent this weekend.

Johnson will choose between the Terps, Kentucky, North Carolina State and Texas at 6 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va.

The 6-foot-6, 216-pound Johnson, rated the No. 14 overall prospect and second-best shooting guard in the 247Sports.com Composite rankings for the Class of 2018, told USA Today last week that he was “95 percent sure” of his choice. The Wildcats lead in the 247Sports.com “Crystal Ball” predictions, including the six most recent picks.

Maryland’s lead recruiter is assistant coach Kevin Broadus, who recruited Kaleb Johnson, Keldon’s older brother, to Georgetown when he was on the Hoyas’ coaching staff.

Keldon Johnson took an official visit to College Park in late September along with five-star point guard Devon Dotson, who picked Kansas over the Terps last month, and four-star point guard Eric Ayala, who committed to Maryland a day after Dotson’s decision. Along with Ayala, five-star forward Jalen Smith (Mount Saint Joseph) and top-50 wing Aaron Wiggins signed national letters of intent Wednesday.
