In this week's recruiting roundup, Mike Locksley's son saddens Maryland fans.

Football recruiting

-- Class of 2015 quarterback target Kai Locksley (Gilman), son of Mike, committed to Florida State on Thursday.

-- Class of 2015 defensive back target Marcus Lewis decommitted from Florida on Thursday. Michigan appears to be the frontrunner.

-- Class of 2016 defensive end target Shane Simmons committed to Penn State on Wednesday.

-- Rivals.com’s updated top 250 for the class of 2016 features 13 players from Maryland, including No. 15 overall prospect Rahshaun Smith (St. Frances).

Basketball recruiting

-- Class of 2015 forward target Markis McDuffie reportedly was offered Monday by Maryland. He also has offers from Penn State and Boston College, among others.

-- Class of 2015 guard target Jarvis Johnson was offered Monday by Maryland. Johnson, who also has offers from Michigan State, Wisconsin and Cal, among others, apparently didn’t know the Terps are no longer an ACC property. View highlights below:

-- Class of 2016 forward prospect Christian Matthews called Maryland his “dream school.” The National Christian star has offers from Rhode Island and Cincinnati. 

-- Class of 2017 wing prospect Myles Douglas (Friends) is one to watch in 2017. Miami, Richmond already have offered.
