In this week's recruiting roundup, the Terps offer a quartet of (basketball) guards.

Football recruiting

-- Class of 2015 quarterback target Kai Locksley (Gilman), son of Mike, reportedly has started to favor Florida State and Texas over Maryland.

-- Class of 2015 cornerback target Mike Majette committed Monday, two days after cornerback Kareem Ali decommitted and switched to Temple.

-- Class of 2015 running back target Ray-Ray McCloud III will announce his college decision Monday. The four-star Sickles (Fla.) prospect reportedly favors Florida and UCLA.

-- Class of 2016 defensive end target Shane Simmons will announce his college decision Wednesday. The five-star DeMatha prospect has a top five of Maryland, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and Penn State, with the Seminoles considered the favorite.

Basketball recruiting

-- Class of 2015 forward target Esa Ahmad reportedly will cut his list to "seven or eight" schools at the end of the month. Maryland is among three schools that will make the cut. Ahmad has impressed on the Amateur Athletic Union circuit so far this summer.

-- Class of 2015 guard target Christian James got a Maryland offer Tuesday. The Bellaire (Texas) prospect also is fielding interest from several high-major Southwest schools and reportedly will commit in October. See highlights below:

-- Class of 2016 guard target Tony Carr reportedly received a Maryland offer this week. The Roman Catholic (Pa.) prospect impressed in the Peach Jam finals and said he plans to visit College Park in the next month.

-- Class of 2016 guard target Brandon Robinson also got a Terps offer Monday. The Douglas County (Ga.) prospect reportedly was "one of the most impressive performers on [last] Thursday at any level" at the Peach Jam and also has a Florida State offer, among others. See highlights below:

-- Finally, class of 2016 guard target Alterique Gilbert added a Maryland offer Wednesday. The Miller Grove (Ga.) prospect has been explosive this summer and already has a number of high-major offers. See highlights below:
