In this week's roundup, arguably the Terps' top two football targets close in on their decisions.

Football recruiting

-- Class of 2014 offensive line target Damian Prince will visit Penn State before making his decision. Among the frontrunners, Maryland and Florida seem the most consistently mentioned.

-- Class of 2014 offensive line target Jared Cohen (McDonogh) will visit North Carolina this weekend and reportedly is down to the Terps and Tar Heels.

-- Class of 2014 defensive back target Daniel Ezeagwu will visit Maryland this weekend, as will Class of 2014 linebacker target Nnamdi Egbuaba (St. Frances).

-- Class of 2015 defensive line target Adam McLean has narrowed his list to five schools. Maryland, once considered a favorite to land the four-star prospect, isn’t among them.

Basketball recruiting

-- Baltimore Sun reporter Don Markus got a chance to check out and report on Class of 2014 signees Trayvon Reed and Jared Nickens last Saturday. Nickens’ Westtown (Pa.) team edged Reed’s Life Center Academy (N.J.) team, 71-61.

-- Class of 2014 guard commit Melo Trimble had 26 points in a loss Saturday. He had some good and some bad.

-- Class of 2014 guard commit Dion Wiley had 15 points and eight rebounds in a 113-41 win Thursday. He was one of eight Potomac (Md.) players in double figures in the 72-point blowout.

-- Class of 2015 guard prospect Malik Ellison is one to watch, and his recruitment has ties to Maryland that could make or break the Terps’ chances.
