With limited scholarships available for the 2014 class, Maryland has seemingly narrowed its focus of prospects and parted ways with some one-time targets.
Obi Enechionyia, a forward from the St. James School near Hagerstown, appears to fall into that category. The four-star prospect trimmed his list this week to Georgia Tech, Loyola Marymount, Miami and Temple, according to DMV Elite.
** Maryland didn't make the list of 10 for 2014 small forward Terry Larrier.
The 6-foot-8 Larrier is now considering Penn State, Marquette, Minnesota, UConn, Florida State, Miami, St. John’s, VCU, Florida and Seton Hall.
** The Terps are also on the outside looking in for another former 2014 forward target in Abdul-Malik Abu.
Class of 2014 power forward Abdul-Malik Abu has narrowed his recruiting list to Connecticut, Providence, Florida and N.C. State, Expressions Elite travel team coach Tyron Boswell told Zagsblog.com.
** Riverdale Baptist center Chinanu Onuaku, a top Terps target, reportedly picked up an offer this week from the defending national champion Louisville Cardinals.
"I love the way he carries himself on the field. He's not out there acting like it's all about him. Classy player, he’s a great kid. There’s no reason why he won’t succeed at Maryland, he’s legit."
