Melo Trimble's big summer on the AAU circuit has continued this week in Milwaukee for the Under Armour Summer Jam. The Maryland-bound combo guard has drawn rave reviews from NY2LASports.com.

Trimble gets buckets at a high level from the guard position and also runs a bit of point. In an overtime win over Dream Vision, Trimble continually made big plays and scored using the jumper and got some clutch buckets when D.C. Assault needed them in the game's final minutes. - See more at: http://ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=1481#sthash.zAEAxssA.dpuf

** CSN Baltimore recapped Maryland-bound shooting guard Dion Wiley's performance at the Peach Jam AAU event.

Over the course of five games, Wiley finished 18-of-35 from three-point range, good for 51 percent from behind the arc. Those 18 tied him for the most of any player in the tournament and he finished third in three-point percentage.

** CSN also caught up this week with Terps small forward pledge Jared Nickens.

"It was a big relief," Nickens told Comcast SportsNet by phone. "I was able to play more freely knowing I didn’t have much to worry about. I was just there to perform better."

** Terps center target Chinanu Onuaku told NBE Basketball Report that Xavier, DePaul and Seton Hall are recruiting him the hardest.

As for who is recruiting him, Onuaku listed scholarship offers from Seton Hall, DePaul, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Maryland, Kansas State, Rutgers, George Mason, Pittsburgh and Miami.

** The Gazette this week wrote about shoe deals and local AAU teams.

Roddy Peters, a backcourt teammate with [Melo] Trimble at the Assault, was a highly sought-after recruit and ended up with the University of Maryland, College Park, conveniently another Under Armour-sponsored program. [D.C. Assault coach Damon] Handon, however, doesn’t view these companies as using his players, warping their talents into advertising ploys.

** Donte Grantham, a 2014 power forward from West Virginia, didn't list Maryland in an interview this week with NBC Sports.

He currently counts offers from Miami, Cincinnati, Clemson, Penn State and West Virginia, with Ole Miss, Texas, Virginia, Louisville and Washington among the schools that have been in touch. Grantham, who is now ranked No. 73 in the Class of 2014 by Rivals, said he doesn’t have a favorite right now, but that he is looking to play at a school that will allow him to spend the majority of his time on the perimeter.

** Maryland also appears to be out of the mix for 2014 power forward Terry Larrier, according to CBS Sports.

VCU, Minnesota, Providence, West Virginia and Miami are all making a strong push, and he's taken trips to VCU, Minnesota, Seton Hall, Rutgers and Temple.

** Mount St. Joseph guard Phil Booth, a former Maryland target, trimmed his list of schools this week to five: Georgetown, Indiana, Temple, Villanova and Virginia.
