Heading into Saturday's game at Temple, Maryland’s defense, which certainly looks like the team’s strongest unit this season, will get back a couple players who had been injured.
Defensive linemen Keith Bowers (knee) and Isaiah Ross (hamstring) will both return Saturday. Strong safety Matt Robinson (shoulder) had hoped to play, too, but coach Randy Edsall says he’s not quite ready. Neither is linebacker Kenny Tate.
“With each week that goes by, I think we’re getting closer with Kenny,” Edsall said.
Right guard Josh Cary (knee) is expected to be listed as questionable when the injury report comes out tonight.
Senior kicker Nick Ferrara (hip) also won’t make the trip to Philadelphia.
If you’re a Maryland fan, you will be anxiously rooting for freshman Brad Craddock (the Punter – and kicker – from Down Under) to convert his first field-goal attempt if gets one against the Owls. He missed wide left from 25 yards away against William & Mary. You always settle down after you make that first one. Don't you?
In fashion news, I learned today that Maryland knows which football uniforms it will wear for all of its games this season -- including those "Pride" uniforms that some say belong on an episode of What Not to Wear.
The Terps won't say when those gaudy uniforms will debut this season -- it's like a state secret.
What do you think? Homecoming versus N.C. State? The first ACC game? Florida State at home?
I can tell you that Maryland will wear white jerseys and red pants for Saturday’s game.
