The winners of all of the Terps’ positional battles became clear by the final week of preseason practice, but Maryland released its depth chart Monday.

Here are a few notes from the depth chart:

** Stefon Diggs will handle kickoff returns, backed up by promising redshirt freshman Taivon Jacobs. Cornerback Will Likely will be the primary punt returner.

** Junior Alvin Hill beat out senior Jeremiah Johnson for the starting cornerback job opposite Likely. Sophomore Jarrett Ross will be the Terps’ fourth cornerback.

** Highly touted freshman Damian Prince is not listed on Maryland’s two-deep. Prince worked largely with the second-team offense after switching to left guard early in camp, but redshirt freshman Mike Minter is listed as the backup to starting left guard Silvano Altamirano.

** Levern Jacobs is the No. 3 receiver behind Diggs and Deon Long. He played primarily in the slot during the Terps' scrimmage two weeks ago.

** Taivon Jacobs is listed as the top backup to Diggs at one outside receiver spot. Junior Marcus Leak is listed as the top backup to Long at the other.

** Maryland hosts James Madison in its season-opener Saturday. The Terps’ full depth chart is here.
