Mount St. Joseph's Darryl Morsell (Maryland) to play in Jordan Brand Classic game

Mount Saint Joseph boys basketball senior guard and Maryland commit Darryl Morsell will play in next week's Jordan Brand Classic.

While the Gaels star will not compete in the Boys National Game, featuring five-star prospects such as No. 1 overall recruit Michael Porter Jr. and former Terps target and Michigan State pledge Jaren Jackson Jr., his competition in the Boys Regional Game is no cakewalk.

Among the players who have accepted an invitation to play are Gonzaga (D.C.) lead guard Chris Lykes, a four-star Miami commit, and Villanova commit Collin Gillespie, recently named the Philadelphia area's Catholic League Player of the Year.

The game, scheduled for April 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., will be Morsell's second all-star showcase in less than a week. On Saturday, he and Bruno Fernando, the other member of Maryland's Class of 2017, will compete in the Capital Classic at Washington's Verizon Center.
